Job Description

The College of Southern Nevada consistently seeks to strengthen the institution by adding the brightest and best available talent to our staff. This is a critical role and will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence.

As a vital member of the Talent Acquisition Team, the Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the hiring processes from beginning to end, leveraging expertise in the best HR practices and innovative thinking to ensure effective talent acquisition.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition, this position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities for talent acquisition and position management for all full-time Classified and Professional positions; as well as part-time positions at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). This position serves as the assigned recruiter for all Salary Grade D level and above positions. Under the direction of the CHRO or AVP will support with recruitment of EX level positions.

The coordinator's primary responsibility will be to effectively oversee and manage the full recruitment cycle, ensuring that the team consistently meets our staff requirements and acquires top talent for our CSN community, applying strong detailed-oriented skills and a commitment to high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

The job duties associated with this position include all aspects associated with the: (1) recruitment activities associated with academic faculty, administrative professionals, part-time, and classified staff and (2) supporting the Assistant Director with classification/reclassification of administrative professionals and classified staff. (3) provide assistance with Applicant Tracking System (Workday) across campus to employees and candidates when needed.

Objectives of this Role include;
  • Ensure the staffing and workforce planning needs of the college are met, with a long-term talent strategy in mind.
  • Devise and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants, such as employer branding initiatives.
  • Advise and collaborate with hiring managers and search committees to ensure clear candidate/interviewer expectations.
  • Uphold and ensure operational excellence to internal and external customers.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Discipline in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related fields such as Psychology, Sociology, and Communications.
  • 3 to 4 years of related professional experience.
  • 1 year of Talent Acquisition supervisory or lead experience.
  • Customer service experience in high volume or fast-paced environment.
  • 2 years' experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • 2 years Talent Acquisition experience w/ full cycle recruiting.
  • Strong technological aptitude; proficiency with Word, Excel, MS Office Suite, ATS, and various platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, at times stressful environment where diplomatic communication and accuracy are expected.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; discipline in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration.
  • PHR/SPHR Certification
  • HR Higher Education Experience
  • 1 year of job classification, review, evaluations, and/or audit experience
  • 3-4 years of Talent Acquisition experience w/ full cycle recruitment.

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the best HR practices and bring innovative ideas to the table.
  • Knowledge to cultivate the talent pipeline to attract the best-qualified candidates.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse workforce encompassing a variety of social styles, managerial styles, socioeconomic backgrounds, people from varied cultural backgrounds, and employees at all organization levels.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.
  • Know how to create quarterly and annual hiring plans, review recruitment-related documents like job descriptions and formulate interview questions and tracking hiring metrics.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting, proactively sourcing candidates using various interview techniques, search processes, and assessment methods.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in recruitment, classification, and reclassification policies, procedures, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying relevant federal and state laws, regulations and policies pertaining to recruitment, classification, and reclassification.
  • Possess good written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively organize and prioritize work activities in an environment where priorities are constantly shifting.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of customer service-related principles and mindset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to successfully use relevant software and hardware technology and to quickly learn and apply new technologies applicable to efficiently completing job-related duties.
  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of situations.
  • Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.
