Job Summary
Columbus State University has an opening for a Recruiter in the Office of Recruitment/Enrollment Management, to be based on our main campus in Columbus, GA. This position will serve on an appointed Student Navigation Team (SNT) to assist students throughout their complete lifecycle as a member of the Columbus State University Community.
Responsibilities
Significant Duties & Responsibilities include: This position is responsible for recruiting students to Columbus State University from an assigned territory in the Georgia region. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, visiting high schools, attending college fairs, and coordinating a variety of other recruitment activities such as Alumni Programs and Campus Visitation Days; Communicates with applicants, students, and families through written correspondence, email, and face-to-face meetings in the Office of Admissions. This position receives and reviews applications for admission from prospective students; Use current and appropriate policies and procedures to determine eligibility for acceptance to the University; Stay abreast of current admissions policy and procedures and how they impact acceptance and denial to the University; Evaluate appropriate achievement standardized test scores; evaluates high school and college transcripts and credits; request and evaluate additional documents needed; Follow the University System of Georgia Board of Regents admissions guidelines and procedures. Work is performed with considerable independence, and frequent travel is required. Weekend and evening work will be required throughout the academic year to support University recruitment activities.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications include: A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. A successful candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills and be able to make presentations to large and small audiences. Additional desirable skills include: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; assembling and analyzing reports for use in designing and implementing recruitment strategies; work effectively with colleagues, prospective students, parents, high school counselors, alumni, and faculty members; able to work irregular hours, nights, and weekends; and perform other duties as assigned. Candidate must provide their own vehicle, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to lift up to 40lbs. A successful criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.
Proposed Salary
The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $35,868 - $40,000 and includes full benefits.

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to submit and successfully pass a background investigation to include reference checks and verification of academic credentials (if applicable). Other additional requirements may be required based upon specific position duties:
- A credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage;
- Pre-employment drug testing for positions with high-risk responsibilities.
- Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive a Columbus State University fleet vehicle or other vehicle designated as a fleet vehicle. A successful drug screening will be required as a condition of employment a randomly thereafter.

For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
