About the Department and/or College
The Talent Development team is dedicated to assisting employees perform at their best to succeed in current positions and successfully prepare for future positions. This team oversees employee development programs, reward programs, and recognition programs by conducting instructor-led and online trainings, by developing relationships with departments, and by creating memorable awards ceremonies. We do these things because we believe in welcoming employees into the Texas Tech family and its culture, creating compliant and educated staff, and recognizing and rewarding employees for their successes, including years of dedicated service.

Major/Essential Functions
In this position, you will:
  • Communicate with employees and departmental leaders to support organizational development needs, developing and maintaining campus-wide professional relationships.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create solid training and development experiences throughout campus to benefit growth and retention of employees.
  • Review, practice, and present a variety of training programs, including team-building sessions, departmental trainings, and conference presentations (Leading from the Frontline). Design and deliver training presentations ("Coffee Breaks," series classes, etc.) using established content development strategies. Ensure all training materials (existing and new) meet university accessibility standards and remain up to date.
  • Manage all training coordination and scheduling, including monitoring the Talent Development inbox and responding in a timely manner.
  • Assist with Human Resources events, including Length of Service, Distinguished Staff Awards, Leading from the Frontline Conference, etc.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience applying adult learning principles in higher education or similar professional environments
  • Ability to synthesize research and varied information into learner-centered training programs
  • Understanding of university accessibility standards


Pay Range
$71,800 - $93,300 - $114,900
