Job Summary:
We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work under the direction of Dr. Tianjing Li to lead research on developing, evaluating, and disseminating efficient methods for comparing healthcare interventions and providing trustworthy evidence for decision-making. Relevant areas of research interest can include but are not limited to (1) study methodology: e.g., systematic review, meta-analysis, network meta-analysis, clinical trial, sources of bias, comparative effectiveness research, patient-centered outcomes research; and (2) data science, informatics, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing methods for health and healthcare data. In particular, we would like the successful candidate to expand and extend our current areas of research.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
● PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, informatics, health policy, public health, clinical epidemiology, or another related field;
● Theoretical and practical experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, and clinical trials;
Preferred Qualifications:
● Theoretical and practical experience in systematic review;
● Experience or success with competitive grants process;
● Experience mentoring students or supervisory experience;
● Experience in preparation of research protocols and ethics applications;
● Familiarity with eyes and vision research.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team;
● Strong quantitative skills;
● Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills;
● Demonstrated ability to manage team-based research projects, multi-task, and to work with a multi-disciplinary research team.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Developing, adopting, and applying new methods that effectively minimize inferential threats in particular study context.
· Establishing optimal methods for comparing interventions, using all forms of data and methodology
· Identifying partners from various disciplines necessary to conduct research. Some candidates will bring emerging technologies or methodologies from other fields (or his/her field of training) to our current research program.
· Innovates methods, begins to establish an independent program of research, contributes to and lead grant writing activities, engages in collaborative projects, and disseminates findings in the peer-reviewed scientific literature to relevant stakeholders.
· Supervises of graduate students and professional research assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Pursue research goals established by the Program Director (Dr. Tianjing Li);
- Undertake significant methodological research as well as applied research;
- Lead research protocol development and optimize protocols to overcome technical limitations and difficulties;
- Prepare IRB applications;
- Lead primary data collection and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of data;
- Analyze data, prepare and present research findings in journal papers and conferences;
- Engage in multidisciplinary scholarly activities consistent with the mission of the Program;
- Network and collaborate with international experts and stakeholders;
- Participate in the group's academic and operational meetings;
- Train, supervise, and provide guidance to student workers, graduate students, professional research assistants, or other personnel as assigned by the Program Director; and
- Contribute to and lead grant writing activities.
