Description
The Public Administration program in the School of Public Affairs invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the areas of Human Resources and Management for a Fall 2024 appointment. This position requires the expertise to teach core public administration courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in at least two of the following areas: human resource management, labor law, labor relations, dispute resolution, and organization development. While not necessary, an ability to teach undergraduate classes in criminal justice would be considered an asset. The research area is open. Since our School's program maintains national accreditation, qualified applicants should have a clear interest and ability to contribute to academic program administration and accreditation processes. A doctoral degree in public affairs, public administration, or a related field by the date of appointment is required.

School of Public Affairs
The School of Public Affairs in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts delivers five degree programs: undergraduate degrees in Public Administration and in Criminal Justice, and master degrees in City Planning, Criminal Justice, and Public Administration. Our combined enrollment in these five degree programs is over 1,200 students. The master's degree in Public Administration is also offered with an emphasis in either Criminal Justice or City Planning. The School's MPA program is accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). The MPA is currently ranked 2^nd among all accredited public administration programs in California by US News and World Report (2023) and 1^st among public universities offering an accredited MPA in California. Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in public administration or a closely related field by the date of appointment. Candidates should have demonstrated evidence of research publications, teaching excellence, and the willingness to participate in shared governance at the school and university level.

The minimum salary for this position is based on the current CSU salary schedule for Assistant Professors and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from $78,000 to $81,000. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience, and salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
